JOB SUMMARY: This role is responsible for planning, organizing, setting up, and attending industry and distributor tradeshows. The coordinator will work with multiple stakeholders to ensure successful presence at all tradeshows. This role is responsible for developing new sales and distribution opportunities, lead generation, lead follow up, and is the key point of contact for our team of manufacturer sales representatives

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Management of Van Holten’s National Tradeshow presence, owning all aspects from scheduling space, association membership, planning accurate shipping of samples and marketing materials, and execution at the show
  • This employee will attend all National Tradeshows and be the lead in coordinating all logistics for the trade shows
  • Manage distributor tradeshow activity by coordinating with manufacturer reps, sales team, and shipping to make sure all samples, details and other activities are covered for the show, including travel to attend shows as needed
  • Track tradeshow costs, ensure payments, summarize, and report details to the sales team
  • Maintain inventory of marketing materials and tradeshow samples to have available at all national and distributor tradeshows, sales calls, and other events
  • Act as the first point of contact for new customer inquiries helping direct customers to the right internal or manufacturer sales representative
  • Coordinate all lead follow up, ensuring that the appropriate salesperson or manufacturer rep is following up on all opportunities
  • Coordinate and track international sales opportunities working with VP to identify best options for growth
  • Maintain an accurate prospect tracker on potential customers and support the Sales Operations Manager with the information needed to get new customers set up in the sales system
  • Present to customers (both in-person and virtual) supporting outside sales team as needed
  • Coordinate with shipping department for accurate delivery and tracking of all approved sample requests
  • Generate sales leads by researching new business opportunities focusing on channels not supported by our manufacturer representative network
  • Maintain and continually improve the information and materials on the Van Holten’s manufacturer rep website
  • Maintain list of manufacturer rep contacts to ensure we are getting communications out to the right contacts
  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing Specialist to send effective communications to our brokers
  • Track expenses and submit for reimbursements with Midwest Food Export Association and other trade associations for international sales expenses
  • Monitor and track retail prices for Van Holten’s and key competitors, looking for trends, changes, and seeking competitive advantages, and then reporting to the sales team
  • File, track, and consolidate syndicated data information from rep firms and other sources

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience
  • Outstanding interpersonal and networking skills
  • Experience with Tradeshow or other event planning
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry experience
  • Skilled in organization, prioritization, and attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite with intermediate level or higher Excel skills
  • Able to understand the target audience
  • Capable of presenting information in ways others can understand clearly

WORK SCHEDULE, CONDITIONS, & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Standard Schedule: Monday through Thursday 8AM – 5PM, Friday 8AM – 4:30PM – 1 hour lunch, additional hours may be required during travel for tradeshows
  • Work will be performed in a typical office environment except when attending trade shows
  • Available for business travel of up to 25% of annual workdays
  • Able to sit or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to perform light to moderate physical work for trade show prep and setup

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
